CHILD OF MARY

As a babe was born in Bethlehem,
In a lowly, common place,
God Himself had come in human flesh,
Jesus Christ, our means of grace.
CHORUS:
Child of Mary, yet the One True God,
By this wondrous mystery
Jesus came to save the dying,
Bringing joyful life and peace.
As He grew, He was Emmanuel,
God with us, who knew our pain.
He felt hunger, thirst and weariness,
But though tempted, had no stain.
CHORUS
As He died, His friends deserted Him
When He bore the cross alone.
Then the humble child of Mary
Rose from death to heaven's throne.
