ONCE THERE WAS A GARDEN
Words by Mary Rose Jensen

Once there was a garden where we heard God's voice.
Then we fell and lost it, banished by our choice.
We searched for Eden, though we should have known
Only faith in Jesus brings the sinner home.

Once there was a promise: God would send His Son.
He'd be our Messiah. Heaven would be won.
For our salvation, we trust Him alone.
Only faith in Jesus brings the sinner home.

Once there was a Prophet, God's Word on the earth.
Saying no one else could give to us new birth.
To see the Father, go through Him alone.
Only faith in Jesus brings the sinner home.

Now so many voices clamor to be heard.
We must cling to truth, which is God's holy word.
Choose when we listen, Christ the Lord, alone.
Only faith in Jesus brings the sinner home.
